Weekly FREE Wheelchair Racing Sessions


Come join us at Griffith University, Gold Coast Campus Athletics Track for our FREE weekly wheelchair racing sessions! This opportunity is supported by the City of Gold Coast and the Active and Healthy Gold Coast.


Whether you're a seasoned racer or just looking to try something new, this event is perfect for all skill levels. Our experienced instructors will be there to guide you through the basics or help you improve your technique. Come one week or come every week through till June 2025, just book your FREE ticket for every session you would like to join. The session is from 9-10am every Saturday.

Frequently asked questions

How old do I have to be for these sessions?

These sessions are suitable for children from 6 years and up through to adults of all ages.

Do I have to use a wheelchair to attend these sessions?

Anyone with a physical disability affecting the lower limbs can attend these sessions.

How long will the sessions go for?

These sessions will approximately run from 9am-10am depending on each individual. Please arrive 10 minutes before each session.

What do I need to Bring?

If possible bring a helmet (we will have some available), water and sunscreen. All racing wheelchairs will be provided

I don't have a racing wheelchair, can I join the sessions?

Yes you can. We have racing wheelchairs available for participants to use.

It is being run as part of the 8 Years To Go Celebration for the Paralympics, across the Gold Coast on 24th August 2024. It's for People with Disabilities of all ages and their families, carers and is a FREE event.
