About this event

Are you curious about what it takes to become a marine biologist or ocean researcher?

Join us for this exciting talk with marine scientists Anna and Mike from the UWA Oceans Institute. Hear about the rewarding career paths in marine science and discover how you could make a difference in protecting our oceans and marine life.

About the speakers:

Anna Faber

Anna is a Molecular Biologist working to tackle ocean plastic pollution. Her research is investigating environmentally friendly, natural microbes to break down plastic waste in the ocean. By extracting DNA from the environment and analysing it to find enzymes that can break down plastic, Anna is working hard to clean up marine pollution.

Mike Taylor

Mike is a Marine Biologist studying the movements of large marine animals in the Shark Bay World Heritage Area. He uses GPS data from tagged animals that live around the seagrass meadows to understand their behaviour, the risks they face, and how this may be affected by climate change.
