About this event

  • Event lasts 7 hours

During this 1-day program, you will learn about the advancing manufacturing and engineering industries and find out about the exciting pathways and career opportunities available! You will get hands-on welding experience; you will undertake a basic practical welding activity with one-on-one instruction from the facilitators. You will be shown cutting, bending, and welding methods.


During the 1-day program, you will:

  • Learn about the advancing manufacturing and engineering industries.
  • Be introduced to OH&S, PPE, and the welding workshops.
  • Be shown the parameters of the welding process, and how to hook up and use the welding machines.
  • Learn the skill of welding when you undertake a practical activity.
  • receive a participation certificate highlighting what you learned throughout the day.


PPE is required to be worn throughout this program; please ensure you wear:

  • Safety footwear
  • Protective clothing – long-sleeved, 100% industrial cotton
  • Industrial long pants
