About
This one-day out-and-back walk covers a particularly scenic section of the Murramarang South Coast Track, located within the pristine Murramarang National Park. Whether you’re looking for a taste of this coastal treasure or simply a rewarding day outdoors, this hike has you covered.
Just two and a half hours’ drive from Canberra or about four hours from Sydney, it’s perfect for those seeking an unforgettable day adventure. If you’re traveling from afar, consider making a weekend of it with accommodation options in South Durras (details below).
The Hike
Meeting Point: South Durras Boat Ramp (public toilets available). View meeting point.
Time: 8:30am
Your Women Want Adventure guide, Tracy, will meet you at the South Durras Boat Ramp. From here, we’ll begin our coastal journey south, winding through lush forests and secluded beaches. Along the way, Tracy will share fascinating insights about the area’s significance to Aboriginal people, including what life was like here 12,000 years ago.
One of the most magical features of this section of the track is the majestic spotted gum forests that extend right down to the beach—truly a sight to behold.
We’ll stop at Myrtle Beach (5km) for lunch and perhaps even a refreshing dip in the crystal-clear waters. After soaking in the views, we’ll retrace our steps back to South Durras.
