About this event

  • Event lasts 3 hours

Gather with other women, chat over a morning tea of healthy food and drinks, and take the opportunity to focus on yourself in a supportive environment. The session will include meditation, reflection, pampering, and fun activities, plus a goodie bag to take home.

As part of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-based Violence, this event is for women with lived experience of domestic, family and/or sexual violence. Please consider this before booking.

Morning tea will be provided so please be sure to add any dietary requirements when booking.

Please wear loose comfortable clothing and come with an open mind and heart.

The event is being held at Seaford Community Centre, the site of the Seaford Ripple. Installed in 2022 by Spirit of Woman and the City of Onkaparinga, the Seaford Ripple is a public commemorative artwork providing a place of courage for victims and survivors of domestic and family violence. Designed and created by artist Clancy Warner, the Seaford Ripple consists of a circle of granite boulders with a limestone circle at its heart, representing healing and the changing of sorrow to relief.

The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence is an annual international campaign that kicks off on 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and runs until 10 December, Human Rights Day.

The campaign was started by activists at the inauguration of the Women’s Global Leadership Institute in 1991. It is used as an organizing strategy by individuals and organizations around the world to call for the prevention and elimination of violence against women and girls.
