The NCAS World Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Week Forum #NCASWAAW2024 is an educational symposium hosted by the National Centre for Antimicrobial Stewardship at the Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity (The University of Melbourne) and the RMH Guidance Group (Melbourne Health) as a one-day, in-person event.


This year’s theme is ‘Advancing AMS- Building workforce capacity for AMS research’, featuring clinician researchers with a one health perspective on AMS. The program is targeted for clinicians interested in AMS and how to practically apply research skills to your role and AMS program. Topics include:

  • Update on current Australian AMS programs and research
  • Education on research design, including metrics, and methodologies such as implementation science and design thinking
  • Insights on how to disseminate your own research
  • Updates on the latest AMS research internationally


The small conference format will allow for interaction with clinicians and researchers with expertise in AMS, networking and practical case discussions.
