About this event
- Event lasts 2 hours
Tickets are $10 per person.
Do you remember your favourite book as a child? Have you ever wanted to write your own children's stories? Join author Cate Whittle at Moruya Library to learn about writing for children.
Cate writes for children and young adults, mostly about magic and mystery, but with stories filled with adventure and a touch of mayhem. She is an experienced primary school teacher, now retired, and has taught writing skills for Marion/ACT Writers Centre, the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, and for online groups. In this two-hour session on writing for children, she will talk about themes and word count for different child audiences, uncovering ideas, creating people and places, story arcs, and facing the blank page.
There will be time to write, a chance to share, and the opportunity to ask questions. Bring along your own pen and paper, and enjoy tea, coffee and biscuits with us during the session.
Eventbrite bookings essential.
