About this event

Craving a restorative day of self-care? Come enjoy a day of tranquillity and soak up all the heart warming activities of a day of sublime peace. A day of “me-time” where you can step back from all your different roles and responsibilities to deeply relax, reflect and rejuvenate. The perfect way to nourish your mental, emotional & physical wellbeing.

According to research, self-care enables you to be your most productive, energetic, and all-around happiest self — which in turn helps you to be more present for others. In fact “Me-time” is a non-negotiable!

So what exactly is yin?

Yin is a wonderful slow paced yoga asana practice that specifically targets deep connective tissues, like your fascia, ligaments, joints, and bones. It’s slower and more meditative, giving you space to turn inward and tune into both your mind and the physical sensations of your body. Because you’re holding poses for a longer period of time than you would in other traditional types of yoga, yin helps you stretch and lengthen those rarely-used tissues while also teaching you how to breathe through discomfort.

The practice of yin yoga is based on ancient Chinese principles stating that there are pathways of energy running through our bodies and by stretching and deepening into poses, we’re opening up any blockages and releasing that energy to flow freely.

A yin yoga sequence has a very similar effect on our energies as an acupuncture treatment and by holding the various poses, a yin yoga sequence can help restore the healthy flow of energy in our bodies.

With Yin the goal isn’t to move through postures freely. Postures are usually held anywhere from two to five minutes allowing access to the deeper tissues and areas that encompass a joint such as the hips, sacrum, shoulders and spine.

What to Expect!

At this deeply relaxing, restorative retreat we will be guiding you through two full deep releasing yin sequences, to ease away stress and tension, calming yoga nidra, a healing mantra sound bath with crystal singing bowls, mindfulness, meditation and sacred kirtan (singing meditation) to nourish and soothe the soul.

A delicious plant based lunch and afternoon tea will be served as well as our famous slow brewed caffeine free, vegan friendly chai.

Please bring a blanket or towel and your own mat if you prefer.

Parking

We have 3 carparks to the left of our entry in Beattie St. There is usually street parking but I've included a map for suggested parking just in case you have trouble finding somewhere to park.

Please note

If you can't make it along, we are happy to transfer you to another event, but we can't refund you if you cancel within 7 days.
