Young People Sex Love and Media Workshop
Date and time
Location
Macquarie University
Faculty of Arts Building Y3A Hadenfeld Avenue, North Ryde, NSW 2109Description
Professor Catharine Lumby, Professor Alan McKee and Associate Professor Kath Albury are the Chief Investigators on a federally funded Australian Research Council research project titled Young People, Sex, Love and Media. Part of the research has involved focus groups with young people aged 13-17 in high schools talking to them about where and how they have learned about sex, love and relationships and how media, including social media, fits into their understanding of themselves and their relationships to others.
It’s become clear in the course of this research that there are many educators and others who work with young people who are keen to learn from the research they have conducted and share their own insights. The workshop on Young People, Sex, Love, Relationships and Media is an opportunity for this exchange.
