EU DSA Statement

Eventbrite brings together a diverse community of creators and consumers to host and discover live experiences around the globe. The safety and security of our marketplace is something we take very seriously.

We continually invest in our policies, products and services to support the safety and wellbeing of our community because it’s the right thing for our users, and we view the EU Digital Services Act (DSA) as a continuation of our commitment to being a trusted events discovery marketplace.

The DSA aims to create a safe and trustworthy digital space for users across online platforms, establishing a single set of rules across the EU’s Member States that govern online platforms’ transparency and accountability obligations.

At Eventbrite, we provide you with tools and processes to help you report any content that you think may be illegal in the European Union or in violation of our Community Guidelines. Reporting directly through our in-product reporting tools enables us to efficiently review the material at issue. 

Information on Eventbrite Users in the EU

Between June 1 and December 31, 2023, the average number of monthly active users of Eventbrite’s services in the EU was less than 45 million, which means that Eventbrite is not a “Very Large Online Platform” (VLOP) as defined by the DSA.  We define monthly active users as the total unique number of individuals who visit eventbrite.com or our consumer mobile app(s) at least once a month. 

Single Point of Contact 

If any of Eventbrite’s stakeholders in the EU - including our users, the European Commission, EU Member State authorities, and the European Board for Digital Services - need to contact Eventbrite regarding the DSA, we have established a straightforward process for doing so.

Disputes About User Content and Accounts

The DSA provides opportunities to dispute certain decisions that online platforms like ours make about content and user accounts. If you believe we've mistakenly taken action on your account or reported content, you can appeal our decision.

In addition, you can contact a certified out-of-court dispute settlement body to help resolve any dispute with us relating to our actions on your account or reported content, including if you disagree with the outcome of an appeal. The European Commission will maintain a website listing the available settlement bodies as they become certified. Decisions by out-of-court dispute settlement bodies are not binding on you or on Eventbrite.

Within and beyond the framework of the DSA, Eventbrite will continue to work on ways to provide a positive experience, give our creators and event-goers more control, and build on our transparency measures to further our goal of creating a trusted events marketplace.
