Pink-Haired Lady - Konnect FEST Facilitator

Bio of the Pink-Haired Lady (Karen)

Karen, affectionately known as the Pink-Haired Lady, is a vibrant advocate for individuals with disabilities and their families. With over 20 years of experience in the employment sector, she is passionate about helping job seekers and businesses thrive through effective connections and support. As the founder of Konnect FEST, a community-focused event series, Karen aims to create an inclusive space for genuine interactions among service providers, families, and individuals in the disability sector.

Karen's journey began with her personal experiences as a mother to an autistic and ADHD son, which ignited her commitment to support other families facing similar challenges. Her mission is to empower others, build strong networks, and facilitate collaborations that foster positive outcomes.

In addition to organizing Konnect FEST events, Karen offers a variety of services, including social media management, brand awareness, and marketing support for providers. She believes in the power of storytelling and authentic communication, crafting raw and genuine content that highlights the strengths of businesses in the sector.

Recognizing the need for community connection, Karen founded Sparkle Thoughts Collective, a supportive group for business owners who are neurodivergent or passionate about creating inclusive environments. As someone who discovered her own ADHD at the age of 40, Karen embraces her uniqueness and encourages others to celebrate their individuality.

With her signature pink hair and infectious energy, Karen is dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of those she serves. She is committed to building bridges within the community, helping people connect, grow, and thrive together. Through her initiatives, she continues to inspire others to pursue their dreams and support each other on their journeys.
