Rinat Zaripov

Hello!

My name is Rinat Zaripov. I work professionally in art and design, and I also teach drawing and painting in the classical style that I learned from the masters who taught me.

I graduated from the Russian Academy of Arts — a legendary school that has produced many great masters such as Ilya Repin, Valentin Serov, Mikhail Vrubel, Vasiliy Kandinsky, and others. I was awarded the Repin Medal, the Academy’s highest honor for achievements in drawing. Studying in the same halls where these great artists once worked was a great honor and inspiration for me. Although my main degree is in architecture, I have always felt like a true artist.

I spent many hours in anatomy classes, where Repin and Serov once studied, feeling that I was continuing an important tradition. During my career, I worked as an architect and interior designer, gained recognition in my country, had my work published in professional magazines, and received awards for the best private and public interior designs.

As long as I can remember, I have always loved sketching people — while traveling, on the streets, and in cafes. Watercolors and quick sketches have become an important part of my daily practice. When I lived in Buenos Aires, I noticed that there were very few artists drawing from life in public places. So I created a small community and started teaching watercolor and sketching outdoors. The project quickly became popular: within a month, our Instagram page gained around 2000 followers, and 20–30 people regularly attended the classes.

Later, I taught in China, where I gave watercolor master classes to more than 2000 students. Today, I continue my work in Australia. A year of attending local sketching sessions showed me that many artists lacked a strong academic foundation — knowledge of proportions, anatomy, composition, and light and shadow. That is why I opened my own figure drawing courses to help students build solid fundamental skills.

I believe that sharing knowledge is an important part of mastering any craft. By teaching others, I organize and deepen my own experience, while helping students to receive the most important knowledge — without unnecessary theory.

In my work, I try to show the beauty of the world through line and color, light and shadow, rhythm, composition, and anatomical aesthetics — and I teach my students to do the same.

Today I am launching a new course — a package of five lessons, but you can also purchase individual group lessons separately.

Each session includes a nude model and Professionally Set Lighting to help you see the model properly.

I’ll be working closely with you during each session, offering personal feedback, guidance, and support.

Sometimes during the session, I will sit next to you and demonstrate techniques directly in your sketchbook or alongside your work.

This classical and highly effective teaching method enhances learning by activating mirror neurons, helping students absorb techniques more quickly and intuitively through direct visual demonstration.
