Organizing an event

Change your event capacity

Your event capacity is the total number of tickets available for your event. Reducing your event capacity can ensure you don't oversell your event, especially if you have multiple ticket types. Increasing your event capacity allows you to sell more tickets. To update your event capacity, go to your event dashboard and select Tickets.

Before you start

  • Each ticket type has a Quantity, or the number of times that specific ticket type can be sold.

  • Each event has an Event capacity. This is the total number of tickets that can be sold for that event across ticket types.

  • If your event is a reserved seating event, your event capacity is the number of seats in your seating map.

Changing the quantity of tickets

Updating the quantity lets you sell more or fewer tickets. Even if you increase the quantity of your ticket types, your event won't sell more tickets than your event capacity.

1. Go to your event dashboard.

Log in to your Eventbrite account and go to Events. Then select your event.

2. Go to “Tickets."

3. Select your ticket type.

4. Enter your new quantity (under “Available quantity").

5. Save your changes.

Your new quantity is applied immediately.

Changing the event capacity

1. Go to your event dashboard.

Log in to your Eventbrite account and go to Events. Then select your event.

2. Go to “Tickets."

3. Select "Edit" (under "Event capacity").

4. Select an event capacity or set a specific event capacity.

5. Select "Continue."

Your new capacity is applied immediately.

Changing capacity on recurring events

If your event is a recurring event, by default, any capacity or ticket changes affect every instance of your event. However, you are able to update the capacity on specific instances.

To update your capacity settings on individual instances of your event:

  1. Go to your event dashboard and click Select a date and time.

  2. Choose a date and time and select Continue. This takes you to the dashboard for that specific instance.

  3. Select Add tickets.

  4. Update your ticket quantity or event capacity.
